Mure I like this woman’s outfit. Can you figure out how to make your drawings real so I can steal her clothes please? TAH DUCK
thank you madam, I am glad you like my fictional garments. and dude! I had some fashionstudentfriends ask if I’d be interested doing fashion illustration for ‘em, so maybe one day muredrawnclothes can be a reality…. WISTFULDREAMS!!
Sometimes, she thought, I just feel so furious for no good reason. There must be a productive use for it. Like filing complaints, or pyromania.
Anonymous asked: Hello Bethan I just saw your wicker cat drawing (it's me, matthew robins writing) that's so cute, what a lovely drawing!
oh goodness me! this is a very late response because I got very excited and wasn’t sure what to say, but thank you ever so much!! this absolutely made my day. lovely drawing for a lovely song!
some things that I often get told about my drawings are that I am very quick and also that I am, “good at knowing when to stop”
a flipside to this is that sometimes I draw without having time to engage with it or enjoy it and occasionally I feel I actually just stop because my patience
so, an exercise in counterintuivity to stir my brain! I’m going to work on this drawing over a series of weeks, little by little and very slowly and calmly. who knows what it’ll turn out! maybe a bit like this picture, maybe something completely different, maybe it will be an overdone mess. but who cares! no rules other than being calm, slow and engaged
I am really looking forward to this.
So Mure and I started this thing together in foundation where we’d both sit down with one bit of paper and two pens and create some dragons.
Well this time it was three pens! Dragons by Mure, Little Mure and Myself~
- Ferdinand + Riley! An irksome two-headed guard dragon.
- Mr. Smisker. More a lap-dragon now than a fearsome beast, he’s old, half blind, dribbles constantly and had rickety knees. We say ‘Lap-dragon’, but you’d be lucky to get him through the door of the house- Let alone in an armchair!
- LORD GIGADUS TITANGARGLE. The most FEARSOME and BLOOD-CURDLINGLY TERRIFYING dragon ever to blight the plains of existence! Every small moth or insect TREMBLES at the thought of having him hang around their local lightbulb.
- Fluffykins Rumbletuff. Spends most of it’s free time lurking around local flower shops, poking it’s tongue inside to try to sip the nectar. Needless to say, the shop owners are rarely pleased and Fluffykins often gets chased away at broom point.
- Barbador. Barbador enjoys fishing. Not many people enjoy fishing with Barbador. He means well enough…
MURE AND MURE we need to do this again soon. It always forever amazes me how these things never really look that much like more than one person did them. We need to have more pots of tea, more plates of pitta and cake and more dragons always more dragons \o/
